  • When I run a pingdom test on the homepage (or any page for that matter) of my website, a large file (231.3kB) shows up as being loaded…..even though I am not using the plugin on that page. I am seeing this on more than one of my sites also. This is also occurring with the Booking plugin as well. On the site where I am using both the booking plugin and the thumbnail scroller, the homepage is getting (which the page is using NEITHER of these plugins) the following loaded:

    http://majahuapalms.com/wp-content/plugins/dopts/assets/js/jquery.dop.ThumbnailScroller.js?ver=3.8 (231.3kB)
    http://majahuapalms.com/wp-content/plugins/dopbsp/assets/js/jquery.dop.FrontendBookingSystemPRO.js?ver=3.8 (239.1 kB)

I have already made a post in the Booking plugin forum about a separate issue, but thought that I would also mention the other issue here as I think they are related.

If I load a page which is using the booking calendar, but not the thumbnail scroller, here are my first five files being loaded by size:

    http://majahuapalms.com/wp-admin/admin-ajax.php: (316.8 kB)
    http://majahuapalms.com/wp-admin/admin-ajax.php: (316.8 kB)
    http://majahuapalms.com/wp-admin/admin-ajax.php: (316.8 kB)
    http://majahuapalms.com/wp-content/plugins/dopbsp/assets/js/jquery.dop.FrontendBookingSystemPRO.js?ver=3.8 (239.1 kB)
    http://majahuapalms.com/wp-content/plugins/dopts/assets/js/jquery.dop.ThumbnailScroller.js?ver=3.8 (231.3kB)

    That’s almost 1.5 MB!

The site will be migrating late tonight to an upgraded server…..so not sure if it will be down or not. But the site is majahuapalms.com

Another site where I am experiencing this (only with the thumbnail scroller) is realmediatravel.com

Any help would be greatly appreciate!

    Thanks

    Hello,

We are looking into this issue and it will be fixed in a couple of days.
    Have a nice day!

    Hello,

    Thanks for the reply.

I never saw a fix for this and continued to experience the issue. In addition, this plugin has been loading the entire fullsize images and not just the thumbnail for the pages – significantly adding to the overall size of the page. Here are some examples that I am experiencing:

Site 1: successfully deleted the thumbnail scroller
with your plugin: 14.2MB for the page size
using a different plugin: 1.8MB in size

Site 2: unsuccessfully deleted the thumbnail scroller
with your plugin: 44.2MB for the page size!
using a different plugin: 2.3MB in size

After deletion of the thumbnail scroller, there are two leftover files that are still being pulled up and causing an error and impacting the page load time. I checked my FTP are there are no signs of the plugin anywhere. The two files that are still trying to load are:

    wp-content/plugins/dopts/libraries/gui/css/jquery.jscrollpane.css?ver=3.8.1
    wp-content/plugins/dopts/assets/gui/css/jquery.dop.ThumbnailScroller.css?ver=3.

link to the site in question is: http://www.realmediatravel.com

Site 3: currently using the thumbnail scroller plugin
A duplicate file (wp-content/plugins/dopts/frontend-ajax.php) is being loaded and significantly adding to the page load time.

At this time, I do not wish to troubleshoot or diagnose the problems with this plugin. Instead, I would just like to know how to completely remove it from my database so it is no longer affecting my site. I am afraid to delete this from the third site due to the issue I am experiencing with the second site.

    Your help is greatly appreciated.

Just figured it out. WP Super Cache is causing the problem with the files not being completely deleted. Had to uninstall WP Super Cache….

    thanks

    Hello,

I’m glad that the problem has been resolved and that everything is working properly.
Please don’t forget to rate this item.

    Thank you.

Just to be clear, the main problem was never resolved. I had to remove the plugin from multiple sites since it was not working properly and there was no fix for it. On one of the sites, however, files from the plugin were still be called up (even after I deleted the plugin). It was the caching plugin that was causing this.

    Hello,

I previously did send you the info (links, and login credentials) and this was your reply:

We are looking into this issue and it will be fixed in a couple of days.

Since there was no other feedback, suggestions or a fix, my clients asked that I find another gallery plugin for them that works. I replaced yours with a different one (on multiple sites, actually) and everyone is happy with the new one. I posted a question with the new gallery plugin I am using now and received immediate feedback…..which was very nice! So, I cannot change everything back (especially after all the extra work I had to do).

I am experiencing a similar situation with your booking system pro plugin and getting the same results with respect to support for the plugin. Two weeks ago I posted the problems I was experiencing. Your support team then asked for login credentials, in which I provided. However, there has been no follow-up, fix, suggestions, etc from your team…only silence. Once again, I have a client (who is very unhappy with me now) and who is asking me to find another calendar plugin for them. This has caused me countless hours of additional work.
