I can’t figure out how to do this. I used to have a technical person who took care of these things, but he’s now gone. We recently had a theme update, and apparently that requires us to reinstall this code.
I finally figured out that I needed to upload the folder via the file manager on the cpanel (I think), but I couldn’t figure out how to upload only the nggallery folder. I can only upload the entire zip file, and that didn’t work.
I then tried extracting the folder after uploading it, and that seemed to add a folder called Thumbnail Gallery (WP NextGEN Gallery Template). I then figured out how to move the one folder I needed under our theme, and then I deleted both that folder and the zip folder. But it still didn’t work.
I cleared our site cache and the nextGEN cache. Still nothing. In fact, when I try to access a page with a gallery, like http://arts-festival.com/artists/fiber/kalbindar-basi, I get an error message that says “not a valid template.” I checked the shortcode and it’s exactly what it should be.
Obviously, I’m missing something – but what? I’ve tried everything I can think of. I appreciate your help.
Okay, I finally figured things out and got everything back in working order, I believe.
Since not everyone is technically oriented, I think it would be a great help if your instructions were more explicit and clear. There are a lot of blanks that needed to be filled in – and most people wouldn’t persist as long as I did (took me almost 2 hours).
Happy to hear this.We will take in consideration your opinion and we will build a better documentation.
